Situated 10 miles west of Manchester City Centre, the town of Tyldesley holds a wealth of history including industry and mining. Locally and affectionately referred to as Bongs (slang – ‘Banks’), the town was founded as Tyldesley Banks, in recognition of the three banks that the town lies upon; the three green banks are represented proudly on the Tyldesley Band crest to honour this.

Tyldesley Band currently has approximately 25 players aged between 15 to 85, and has a very firm base of local supporters spread around the surrounding areas and across the North West, where many famous names in brass banding either began their career or developed under the baton at Tyldesley Band. The band has enjoyed some recent success, winning the 2nd Section Regionals in Blackpool in 2015 and coming 4th in 2016, resulting in promotion to the 1st section.

In addition to a regular concert and contest diary, Tyldesley Band enjoys a very busy social schedule, including an annual band dinner, weekends away, and the rehearsal de-briefing meeting in the Mort Arms pub located next to the bandroom; here at Tyldesley Band are one of the friendliest and social brass bands you can find.

Tyldesley Band are available for Brass Band hire, for almost any type of engagement, from concerts and galas, to parades and walks. Information about booking Tyldesley Band can be found on the contact page.
